Howard (0-5) allowed eight runs (five earned) on five hits and three walks over 3.2 innings Friday, striking out two and taking a loss against Cleveland.

Howard was hit hard in the third and fourth innings, allowing six runs and getting tagged with two more after he was removed from the game. He served up solo homers to Austin Hedges and Bobby Bradley in the process. The right-handed rookie ends his 2021 campaign with a 7.43 ERA and a 52:27 K:BB through 49.2 innings. Howard was charged with 20 earned runs over his final 16 innings (11.25 ERA) of the year.
