Rangers' Zach Reks: Heads back to minors

The Rangers optioned Reks to Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.

Reks' latest stint in the big leagues lasted 10 days, with the 28-year-old appearing in seven games while going 4-for-12 with a run scored. With Texas bringing back designated hitter/catcher Mitch Garver (illness) from the COVID-19-related injured list and Josh H. Smith (shoulder) back from the 10-day IL, the team no longer had room on the roster for Reks as a depth option.
