Red Sox's Dustin Pedroia: Starts at DH
Pedroia served as the designated hitter for the second consecutive game Friday, going 0-for-9 in Boston's 13-6 win over Tampa Bay in 15 innings.
The Red Sox are trying to get a banged-up Pedroia, who is playing with inflammation in his left knee, through the rest of the season. They took advantage of Hanley Ramirez's biceps injury, which has kept him out the last two games, to reduce the impact on Pedroia's knee. It's an injury the team believes Pedroia may have to deal with for the rest of his career.
