Cordero is out of the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Blue Jays, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Considering that the Blue Jays are expected to use two left-handed starting pitchers Wednesday in Steven Matz and Robbie Ray, the lefty-hitting Cordero may not crack the lineup for either half of the twin bill. That said, Cordero still looks as though he could be in store for a look as a strong-side platoon man at first base. He manned first base for both of Boston's last two games, when the Red Sox faced right-handed starting pitchers.
