The Reds designated Wojciechowski for assignment Sunday.

After joining the Reds as a long reliever initially upon his May 20 promotion to the big leagues, Wojciechowski was thrust into the rotation after tossing 3.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen in his first appearance with the club. He failed to carry that success over to a starting role, however, as he was tagged for 16 runs (15 earned) on 23 hits and three walks over 17.1 innings in his four turns in the rotation. Lisalverto Bonilla was recalled from Triple-A Louisville to take Wojciechowski's spot on the active roster, but it's not immediately clear if Bonilla will assume his rotation spot. If the Reds opt to use Bonilla out of the bullpen, the team could delve into the Triple-A Louisville ranks when a fifth starter is next needed Friday against the Nationals.
