Vargas (16-10) pitched five innings, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out four and picking up the win Friday against the Indians.

The crafty southpaw put a stop to the Tribe's record-breaking streak of 22 straight wins. Friday also pushed Vargas into a tie atop the AL with 16 wins. After reeling off six losses in seven starts from Aug. 2 to Sept. 5, the veteran has now grabbed back-to-back wins for the first time since before the Midsummer Classic. Vargas will go for three straight when he toes the rubber in Toronto for his next start on Thursday.
