Baddoo (quadriceps) took batting practice on the field Saturday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Baddoo has been shelved since June 10 with a right quad strain, and Saturday's events are a positive sign that he could be inching toward a rehab assignment soon. The 24-year-old outfielder was slashing .231/.341/.343 through 168 plate appearances prior to getting injured.
