Farmer was officially recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday.
The Tigers sent Blaine Hardy packing Tuesday night to clear a spot on the active roster for Farmer, who is set to make his second start of the season and 10th career start Wednesday opposite the Angels' Alex Meyer. Farmer struck out 11 in 6.1 scoreless innings against the White Sox in his 2017 debut back on May 27, and if he holds his own Wednesday, he could get an extended look as Matt Boyd works some things out in the minors.
