Stumpf (elbow) threw from flat ground Thursday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Stumpf landed on the disabled list at the end of May with an elbow injury, but he's already resumed throwing a program after an MRI cleared him of any structural damage. He'll continue to ramp up his throwing intensity before eventually being cleared to head out on a minor-league rehab stint.
