The Tigers have selected Schiefelbein with the 72nd overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft.
A prep southpaw from California, Schiefelbein has a deep pitch mix for a high schooler, with his low-90s fastball and above-average slider leading the way. He already shows a good feel for his changeup and throws plenty of strikes despite a high-effort operation.
