Including his final season at Middle Tennessee State, Hamm threw 91.2 innings in 2023, so he built slightly off that in his first full pro season. The 6-foot-1 righty has elite movement characteristics on his low-90s fastball, which allows the pitch to play up as plus. A north-south pitcher, Hamm uses his 12-6 curveball most to put hitters away. He'll also mix in a changeup and slider. If the 7.8 percent walk rate Hamm logged this season holds as he moves up to Double-A, he should keep marching towards a mid-rotation role in Detroit.
