Meadows (hamstring) is expected to begin a rehab assignment soon, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Meadows was cleared to run the bases Wednesday and didn't have any issues, so he will continue his progression with more running Saturday. It's possible he'll be ready to play in rehab games after that. Meadows has been shelved for most of July with a right hamstring strain but could be tracking toward a return in early August.
