The Tigers reinstated Greene (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list and designated him as the 27th man for Sunday's Little League Classic against the Yankees in Williamsport, Penn., Jason Beck of MLB.com reports. Green will bat second as the designated hitter.
The 23-year-old had been sidelined by a hamstring strain since late July but is ready to rejoin the Tigers after two-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo. Detroit will take advantage of the 27th man for Sunday's neutral-site game but will need to make a corresponding transaction for Greene prior to Tuesday's series opener versus the Cubs.
