Tigers' Shane Greene: Picks up win despite blown save

Greene (4-3) blew his fourth save as he allowed an inherited runner to score in the eighth, but he was able to pitch a scoreless ninth to pick up the win Friday against the White Sox.

With runners on first and second and two outs in the eighth, Greene came in and gave up a game-tying single. But Greene stayed on, completed a scoreless ninth, and the Tigers managed to manufacture a run in the ninth to get him the win. The run was charged to setup man Alex Wilson, who put both runners on and managed to record just one out in the eighth.
