Tigers' Victor Martinez: May remain in hospital

Martinez (illness) remained in a hospital overnight for observation Thursday and may stay there Friday as well, MLB Network Radio reports.

Tigers manager Brad Ausmus called it "more scary than a general baseball injury". Martinez asked to be removed from Thursday's contest due to cold sweats, dizziness and a racing heartbeat. He may need a few more days of rest, but a timetable for his return will become clearer once the club releases specifics on his condition.
