Mejia (4-6) allowed three runs on five hits while striking out three batters over just three innings in Saturday's loss to Toronto.

This was Mejia's first start since Aug. 8, as the 24-year-old lefty missed over a month with a biceps injury. He made three rehab appearances before Saturday's game, so the short outing was clearly the result of his poor performance and not related to his previous ailment. Mejia takes an underwhelming 4.62 ERA and 1.57 WHIP into his next projected start against Detroit at Comerica Park.
