Simmons singled in the sixth inning and stole second. He scored on Jorge Polanco's two-out home run. This was Simmons' first steal of the season. The 31-year-old is batting just .167 with seven runs and three RBI in July. On the season, he is slashing .230/.297/.302 with three long balls, 19 RBI and 32 runs in 279 plate appearances.
