Murphy is hitting .232/.306/.446 with three home runs in 18 games for Triple-A Rochester.
While Murphy's hitting stats may not be overly impressive, they mark a bounceback after last year's miserable season. Murphy won the major-league backup role at the start of 2016, but then went 3-for-40 at the plate and was quickly demoted to Triple-A Rochester. He didn't fare much better in the minors, as he hit just three home runs with a .609 OPS. If he can continue to hit the way he has so far this season at Triple-A, he'll likely get another shot in the majors at some point.
