Rodon lasted just four innings Saturday against the Rays, although he allowed just one run on two hits and three walks while striking out four. He didn't factor into the decision.
The young southpaw didn't give up much to the Rays' offense, but his outing was cut short given that he required 69 pitches (41 strikes) just to get through the four frames. Despite a hiccup in his last start, Rodon has been excellent lately, producing a 3.00 ERA with a 45:13 K:BB in his past seven starts. He'll make his next start in the team's upcoming series with the Indians.
