White Sox's Dylan Covey: Allows four runs, takes loss versus Royals
Covey (0-5) allowed four runs on two hits and four walks across 5.2 innings while earning the loss Tuesday against the Royals. He recorded one strikeout.
Covey struggled mightily in the first inning, loading the bases before allowing a one-out grand slam to Brandon Moss. He bounced back nicely thereafter and only allowed two more baserunners, but enough damage was done to sink him to a loss. Covey had come out of the bullpen in his previous six appearances, and while his line Tuesday was nothing special, his persistence and the injury to Carlos Rodon (shoulder) should keep him in the rotation for Sunday's start against the Tigers.
