Jones (elbow) threw a bullpen session Wednesday and may work another one Friday, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports.

The right-hander was struggling with his control (4.6 BB/9) but otherwise struck out 11.6 per nine innings and kept a 2.31 ERA before landing on the disabled list. Jones may return within the next week, depending on whether the club determines he needs a simulated game or rehab assignment in the minors. Upon his activation, he'll probably resume eighth-inning setup duties, which would make him the logical speculation play behind closer David Robertson, unless the surging Tommy Kahnle can seize that title.
