Yankees' Adam Warren: Will throw side session Saturday
Warren (back) will throw off flat ground for the first time since landing on the 10-day DL on Sept. 6, Pete Caldera of the Bergen Record reports.
Warren was expected to miss two weeks upon the initial diagnosis of his back injury, and it appears as though he may need a little more time, likely pushing his return back to at least the beginning of the Toronto series next weekend. If all goes well during Saturday's side session, Warren will need to toss a bullpen in the coming days to see if he's ready to rejoin the big-league staff. Over the course of the 2017 season, the right-hander has posted a 2.40 ERA and 0.89 WHIP during 56.1 innings.
