Schmidt pitched 3.1 innings for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday, allowing one run on three hits and a walk while striking out four.

In his first appearance at the Triple-A level this season, Schmidt gave up only one hit -- a solo home run -- and worked up to 62 pitches. The right-hander's campaign has been marred by an elbow strain suffered during spring training, but he will look to ramp up in hopes of helping the Yankees in their playoff push down the stretch.
