Giants Triple-A outfielder Darren Ford left Fresno's game on a stretch Thursday, after running into a wall, according to MLB.com. No other details are yet known on the 28-year-old's status, or the nature of the injury.
The Giants signed outfielder Darren Ford to a minor-league deal on Saturday, according to Comcast SportsNet Bay Area. Ford was recently cut by the Pirates. He hit .230/.307/.301 with two home runs, 19 RBI and 29 stolen bases with Triple-A Indianapolis last season.
The Pirates announced Wednesday they optioned Vic Black, Stolmy Pimentel, Clint Robinson, Jerry Sands, Hunter Strickland and Duke Welker to Triple-A Indianapolis. They also reassigned Erik Cordier, Darren Ford, Matt Hague, Anderson Hernandez and Jameson Taillon to minor-league camp.
