    • Brown agreed to a minor league deal with the Rockies on Tuesday, Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports reports. The 29-year-old has fallen off quite a bit since being named an All-Star in 2013 with the Phillies, a season where he slashed .272/.324/.494 in 540 plate appearances. He spent all of last year in Triple-A Buffalo, slashing just .239/.303/.336 in 509 plate appearances. The Rockies are taking a flyer here, but it seems likely he'll end up back in Triple-A.

Brown is joining the Blue Jays on a minor league contract that includes an invitation to spring training, Sportsnet's Shi Davidi reports. Brown was terrible for a second straight year in 2015, eventually getting outrighted off the Phillies' 40-man roster in October. He's fallen a long way since posting a .272/.324/.494 slash line in 2013, but he's still only 28 years old.

    • Domonic Brown: Elects free agency
      By RotoWire Staff

Brown has elected free agency, SB Nation's Chris Cotillo reports. With Brown coming off a miserable 2015 season and arbitration-eligible again this winter, the Phillies just decided to cut bait, outrighting the 28-year-old last week. Brown has refused the assignment and will hit the open market, but he is not guaranteed to receive a major-league offer despite being just two seasons removed from a 27-homer campaign.
