Free agent pitcher Andrew Carignan has come to terms on a minor-league contract with the San Francisco Giants, according to the Norwich Bulletin. Carignan, who underwent Tommy John surgery in June of 2012, did not pitch in 2013 after undergoing right labrum surgery in July during his rehab from Tommy John.
A's pitcher Andrew Carignan was re-assigned to minor league camp Sunday. Carignan underwent Tommy John surgery last June.
Oakland reliever Andrew Carignan is eight months removed from Tommy John surgery as camp opened Tuesday, reports MLB.com. Carignan threw 25 pitches and is on track to continue similar side sessions twice a week for about five more weeks. He is preparing to return to action in June. "He's basically on the same page that Brett [Anderson] was on last year, but as a reliever," pitching coach Curt Young said. "Hopefully we can get him back by late June, somewhere in there, but his rehab is going great."
