    • Padres' Manny Machado: Takes seat Sunday
      By RotoWire Staff

Machado is not in the lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Diamondbacks. Machado started all 16 games to begin the season but will receive the day off Sunday with Zack Greinke on the mound for Arizona. The All-Star third baseman has a .246/.348/.474 slash line with four home runs through 66 plate appearances. Luis Urias will start at third base and bat eighth for the Padres in his stead.

    • Padres' Manny Machado: Slugs fourth homer
      By RotoWire Staff

Machado went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 2-1 win over the Diamondbacks. His first-inning shot off Luke Weaver was his fourth homer of the year, but Machado also struck out in his other three plate appearances. Contact has been a bit of an issue to begin his stint with the Padres, but his .245/.355/.491 slash line through 15 games is still solid, and Machado's also added a steal, nine runs and eight RBI to his ledger. The career .282 hitter should see more hits fall in soon enough.

Machado went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in a 3-1 victory against the Giants on Wednesday. The 26-year-old has been on base a ton because of walks, but Machado has been a little show in most of the offensive categories. His three homers aren't bad, but Machado is hitting .244 with six RBI and seven runs through 45 at-bats. He also has one steal.

    • Padres' Manny Machado: Hits first Padres homer
      By RotoWire Staff

Machado went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run, a pair of walks and two runs scored to help the Padres to a 4-1 win over the Diamondbacks on Wednesday. Machado was off to a bit of a slow start to his Padres tenure, with five hits in his first 23 at-bats, but he broke out in this one, turning on a pitch from Matt Andriese for a long two-run shot in the seventh inning for his first homer of the season. It was only a matter of time for the star third baseman, who is one of the premier offensive forces in baseball when he's locked in at the dish.
