    • Allie signed a minor-league contract with the Red Sox on Thursday, Andersen Pickard of MLB Daily Dish reports. The contract does not include an invitation to spring training, so Allie will likely open the season at Triple-A. He posted an 8.16 ERA, 1.88 WHIP and 40:31 K:BB across 32 innings with Triple-A Oklahoma City in 2019.

    • Allie re-signed a minor-league deal with the Dodgers on Tuesday. Allie spent his fourth straight season at Double A -- this year at Double-A Tulsa. After a productive 2016 in which he hit 16 home runs and drove in 63 RBI, the 26-year-old struggled in 2017, slashing .216/.293/.341. Allie will need to show consistency at the plate and cut down on the strikeouts if he plans on seeing the majors in the near future.

    • Allie signed a minor league contract with the Dodgers on Monday, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports. The former second-round draft pick spent 2016 with the Pirates' Double-A affiliate and bashed 16 home runs and 20 doubles over the course of the season. Allie also boasts a strong 10.1 percent walk rate from a year ago, but his high propensity to strike out is a big reason why he hasn't advanced past Double-A over the past three seasons. The 25-year-old does have experience at a number of positions in an effort to boost his stock, although he'll need to prove more at the plate if he wants to sniff the majors any time soon.

    • The Pirates announced that infield prospect Stetson Allie has been re-assigned to minor-league camp. Allie's depature means the Pirates are down to 57 players in spring training. Allie hit .246 with 21 home runs at Double-A Altoona a year ago.

    • Pirates first base prospect Stetson Allie homered twice, which included a grand slam, during a 10-9 win for Double-A Altoona Wednesday. Allie finished 3 for 3 with one double, two walks, three runs and five RBI. Allie has homered four times in his last five games to bring his season total to five. He is batting .291 with a .400 on-base percentage, .655 slugging percentage, 1.055 OPS, five doubles, 11 runs and 13 RBI in 15 games. He also has nine walks and 13 strikeouts. "Getting a good cage routine, sticking to my approach and really focusing on the work before the game," Allie said about his early season success, per MLB.com. "When I go into the game where I had a good work day, it seems like in the game I'm a little bit more patient, I'm looking for a little bit better pitch selection and everything seems a little bit slow in the game instead of speeding up."
