    • Rivera signed a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training with the Marlins on Friday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports. Rivera only played in one major-league game with the Brewers this past season, and spent a majority of his time with Triple-A Colorado Springs. He slashed .218/.282/.314 with the Sky Sox during 107 games, and will likely serve as organizational infield depth for the Marlins while playing in Triple-A once again in 2018.

He'll likely never be much of a contributor on offense, but his defensive versatility carries real-life value at the Triple-A level.

      By RotoWire Staff

Rivera was optioned to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Tuesday. The infielder made just one appearance after being called up to the big leagues. With the Brewers in need of catching depth more than infield depth at the moment, Rivera will return to the minors. His positional versatility could help him find his way back to Milwaukee when the team's catching situation is sorted out once again.

    • Rivera was called up by the Brewers on Thursday. The team placed Eric Sogard on the disabled list with an ankle injury prior to Thursday's game against the Cubs, bringing Rivera up for his first major-league call-up of the season. Rivera will provide infield depth while Sogard recovers, but hasn't exactly been tearing it up at the Triple-A level with Colorado Springs this season, batting just .238/.296/.337 in 71 games this year.
