  • Dodgers' Nick Ramirez: Back with big club

The Dodgers recalled Ramirez from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday. The move comes with the Dodgers placing Kyle Hurt (shoulder) on the injured list. Ramirez has made two appearances with the Dodgers out of the bullpen this season, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one batter over three scoreless innings.

  • Dodgers' Nick Ramirez: Optioned to OKC

The Dodgers optioned Ramirez to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Ramirez appeared in two games after being called up on Saturday, pitching three scoreless innings while striking out one batter and walking one. He'll head back to Triple-A to make room for Kyle Hurt, who was recalled to start Tuesday's game, but Ramirez could return later in the year if the Dodgers find themselves in need of a fresh bullpen arm.

  • Dodgers' Nick Ramirez: Recalled from Triple-A

Ramirez was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City by the Dodgers on Saturday. Acquired from the Yankees earlier this month, Ramirez posted a 2.66 ERA and 28:9 K:BB over 40.2 innings at the big-league level in 2023. He should operate in low-leverage spots for the Dodgers.

  • Dodgers' Nick Ramirez: Traded to Los Angeles

Ramirez was traded from the Yankees to the Dodgers in return for cash considerations Tuesday. Ramirez will head to Los Angeles after being designated for assignment by New York on Saturday. The 34-year-old appeared in 32 games with the Yankees in 2023, producing a 2.66 ERA and 1.23 WHIP with 28 punchouts over 40.2 innings. Alex Vesia is currently the only left-hander in the Dodgers' bullpen, and if elevated to the major-league roster, Ramirez would provide manager Dave Roberts with another southpaw to deploy in relief.

  • Yankees' Nick Ramirez: Designated for assignment

The Yankees designated Ramirez for assignment Saturday. Ramirez failed to win a spot on the Yankees' roster during spring training, and he'll now be squeezed off the 40-man to make room for Tanner Tully, who was selected from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday. The 34-year-old Ramirez posted a 2.66 ERA and 1.23 WHIP across 40.2 innings last season and may receive some attention on the waiver wire from teams in search of bullpen depth.

  • Yankees' Nick Ramirez: Sent to minor-league camp

The Yankees optioned Ramirez to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday. Ramirez posted a 6.14 ERA over 7.1 innings during spring training and was unable to earn a place on the Opening Day roster. The left-hander pitched well for the Yankees last season with a 2.66 ERA in 32 appearances, so it's likely just a matter of time before he's recalled in 2024.

  • Yankees' Nick Ramirez: Collects first career save

Ramirez struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Tuesday to record his first career save in the second game of a doubleheader against the Red Sox. Clay Holmes, Tommy Kahnle and Wandy Peralta had all worked the matinee, so manager Aaron Boone had to get a bit creative in the nightcap with his bullpen. Ramirez was up to the task in the ninth, needing only 13 pitches (eight strikes) to breeze through Boston's 2-3-4 hitters. The 34-year-old lefty has bounced between the majors and Triple-A in the second half but has been effective when called upon, posting a 1.84 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 11:2 K:BB through 14.2 big-league innings since the All-Star break.

  • Yankees' Nick Ramirez: Optioned to Triple-A

Ramirez was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday. Ramirez has pitched well this season with a 2.67 ERA and 25:9 K:BB over 33.2 frames, but he finds himself back in the minors nonetheless. The Yankees haven't announced a corresponding move yet, but it's expected to be Randy Vasquez coming up to start Friday in Miami.

  • Yankees' Nick Ramirez: Back with big club

The Yankees recalled Ramirez from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday. Ramirez had been optioned to Triple-A on Friday, but he'll be eligible to rejoin the Yankees just three days later after left-hander Carlos Rodon (hamstring) was placed on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. Since Rodon lasted just 2.2 innings into his start Sunday against the Astros before departing with the injury, Ramirez will be called upon to provide a fresh arm to a taxed bullpen. Ramirez has compiled a 2.48 ERA and 1.26 WHIP over 32.2 innings in the New York bullpen this season.

  • Yankees' Nick Ramirez: Sent down to Triple-A

The Yankees optioned Ramirez to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after Friday's game. A roster spot had to be freed up with Nestor Cortes (shoulder) returning Saturday. Ramirez has been highly effective with a 2.48 ERA so far this season, but he's going to be unavailable for a few days after covering 2.1 innings in Friday's loss to Houston, and the Yankees need all hands on deck over the remainder of the weekend. Expect Ramirez to be back with the club before too long.

  • Yankees' Nick Ramirez: Back in New York

The Yankees recalled Ramirez from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday. With Ryan Weber (forearm) headed for the injured list, Ramirez will return to the Yankees' bullpen in his place. The 33-year-old lefty holds a 2.00 ERA and 1.33 WHIP through nine big-league innings this season, but his 5:4 K:BB ratio makes it unlikely he sees many high-leverage situations.

  • Yankees' Nick Ramirez: Optioned to Triple-A

Ramirez was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following Thursday's game against the Orioles. Ramirez was recalled May 17 and has made three appearances since, allowing no earned runs across 2.2 frames. He pitched both Wednesday and Thursday, so this could be a move to ensure the team has enough arms in its bullpen to get through its weekend series against the Padres.

  • Yankees' Nick Ramirez: Called up to majors

The Yankees selected Ramirez's contract from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. Ramirez hasn't appeared in a major-league game since 2021, but the 33-year-old southpaw will get another look in the big leagues after turning in a 1.74 ERA through 10.1 innings this season at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He'll provide the Yankees with a fresh left-handed bullpen arm.

  • Yankees' Nick Ramirez: Inks minor-league contract

Ramirez signed a minor-league contract Tuesday with the Yankees that includes an invitation to major-league spring training. Ramirez spent the 2022 season with the Triple-A affiliate of the Mariners and worked to a 2.93 ERA and 53:13 K:BB ratio in 55.1 innings. The former first baseman will function as organizational relief depth for New York heading into the 2023 campaign.

  • Padres' Nick Ramirez: Designated for assignment

Ramirez was designated for assignment by the Padres on Friday. Ramirez owns a 5.75 ERA in 20.1 major-league innings this season, the last of which came back in early July. His 5.23 ERA over 41.1 frames at the Triple-A level isn't much better. He'll exit the 40-man roster as the Padres add Vince Velasquez ahead of his scheduled start against the Cardinals.

  • Padres' Nick Ramirez: Activated, optioned

The Padres activated Ramirez (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list Monday and optioned him to Triple-A El Paso. The transaction clears a spot on the active roster for infielder Adam Frazier, whom the team officially acquired Monday in a trade with the Pirates. Ramirez was placed on the IL on July 8 with left rotator cuff inflammation, but he was cleared to begin a rehab assignment at El Paso last week and appears to be fully healthy.

  • Padres' Nick Ramirez: Lands on 10-day IL

Ramirez was placed on the 10-day injured list with left rotator cuff inflammation Thursday. Ramirez was roughed up as a reliever in Wednesday's loss to the Nationals, as he gave up five runs (four earned) on six hits and no walks while striking out one in two innings. His shoulder issue may have contributed to his struggles, and he'll now be sidelined through the All-Star break. It's not yet clear whether the southpaw will need to spend more than the minimum of 10 days on the shelf, but he'll be eligible to return shortly after the break.

  • Padres' Nick Ramirez: Earns first win of year

Ramirez (1-1) tossed 1.2 scoreless innings Friday against the Diamondbacks. He walked one and struck out one as he picked up his first win of the year. Ramirez was called upon with one out and two runners in scoring position in the third after Chris Paddack got tagged for five runs in Friday's start. He got out of the jam and then went on to toss a 1-2-3 fourth inning before turning the ball over to Miguel Diaz. Friday was Ramirez's first outing since May 25 after he was recalled from Triple-A El Paso on Sunday. He owns a 4.38 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 8:5 K:BB over 12.1 innings and should continue to work as a middle innings reliever.

  • Padres' Nick Ramirez: Back with big club

The Padres recalled Ramirez from Triple-A El Paso ahead of Sunday's game against the Reds, MLB.com reports. Ramirez will give the Padres some extra coverage out of the bullpen after the team used five relievers to cover nine innings in Saturday's 7-5 win. The 31-year-old southpaw previously made seven relief appearances for San Diego, giving up six earned runs on 12 hits and four walks over 10.2 innings.

  • Padres' Nick Ramirez: Sent down Saturday

Ramirez was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Saturday, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Ramirez was called up by the Padres on Friday and allowed one hit and two walks while striking out two in two scoreless relief innings during Friday's win over Houston. He'll now return to the minors to make room in the bullpen for Aaron Northcraft, who was recalled in a corresponding move.
