    • Kahnle (elbow) was placed on the 60-day injured list Thursday. Kahnle underwent Tommy John surgery last August and is likely to miss most -- if not all -- of the 2021 season. The move opens a spot on the 40-man roster for Jimmy Nelson.

    • Kahnle (elbow) signed a two-year, $4.75 million contract with the Dodgers on Tuesday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports. Kahnle will be unavailable for most or all of the 2021 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in August, but he reached a two-year deal with Los Angeles after parting ways with the Yankees at the end of October. The right-hander made 73 relief appearances over the last two seasons, posting a 3.61 ERA and 91:21 K:BB over 62.1 innings. Once Kahnle returns to full health, he should operate as a late reliever for the Dodgers.

    • Kahnle (elbow) elected free agency Saturday rather than accepting an outright assignment. Kahnle is expected to miss most of the 2021 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in early August, and he'll now head into free agency instead of remaining with the Yankees. It's unclear when the 31-year-old could land another contract as he's still in the early stages of a lengthy recovery process.

    • Kahnle (elbow) was transferred to the 45-day injured list Thursday. He opted for Tommy John surgery earlier this week. Given the timing of the injury, it will take a very smooth recovery for Kahnle to return in 2021. Next year is his final year under club control, so it's possible the Yankees will non-tender him at some point in the next year.

    • Kahnle (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery in New York on Tuesday, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports. Tommy John surgery was believed to be on the table for Kahnle after he was diagnosed with a UCL injury Friday and was moved to the injured list, and the right-hander didn't wait long before electing to go under the knife. He'll now be sidelined for the rest of the season and the majority of the 2021 campaign while recovering from surgery. Since joining the Yankees midway through the 2017 season, Kahnle has appeared in 129 games and posted a 4.01 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 23.3 K-BB% while notching 38 holds and one save.
