  • McMahon went 1-for-4 with a home run, a walk, four RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 10-5 win over Washington. McMahon went deep with a three-run shot in the first inning, his 23rd long ball of the year. He's one homer shy of his career-best 24 from 2019.   • McMahon went 1-for-4 with a three-run double, a steal and a walk in Monday's 5-4 loss to Washington. The Rockies were being shut out through five innings before McMahon cleared the bases with a three-run double in the sixth. He drew a walk in the fourth and swiped his sixth bag of the year. The 26-year-old infielder owns an .802 OPS with 13 RBI this month, raising his season slash line to .254/.333/.448.

  • McMahon is not starting Friday against the Giants, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports. McMahon drew a rare start against a left-hander last week, but he'll retreat to the bench against southpaw Alex Wood on Friday. Colton Welker will man the hot corner and bat eighth.

McMahon draws the start even with a lefty on the mound, typically a spot for Colton Welker to pick up playing time at the hot corner. McMahon has hit well of late, collecting eight hits in his last 27 at-bats while homering twice, driving in four and scoring six runs.

After four consecutive starts, McMahon will take a seat for the middle game of the series at Truist Park, opening up third base for rookie Colton Welker.
