Wade went 0-for-1 with a walk, a run and a stolen base in Monday's victory over the Twins. Wade was lifted for a pinch hitter in the eighth inning, but he made an impact on the box score before his departure. The speedster led off the sixth frame with a walk, stole second and came around to score after advancing on consecutive fly balls. Wade's theft was his team-leading 14th of the season but first since Aug. 26.
Wade stole a base and scored as a pinch runner in Thursday's win over Oakland. With the score tied 6-6 in the ninth inning, Anthony Rizzo drew a walk and was replaced on the basepaths by Wade, who proceeded to steal second and move over to third on a throwing error. Aaron Judge then singled to right field to plate the game-winning run. Wade has swiped six bags in his past 12 games, but his playing time figures to be sporadic moving forward with Gio Urshela back in action and Gleyber Torres (thumb) nearing a rehab assignment.
Wade is not starting Friday agains the Twins. Wade will retreat to the bench for the second time in three games after walking and scoring during Thursday's win. Rougned Odor draws the start at third base with Andrew Velazquez set to man shortstop Friday.
Wade isn't starting Wednesday against the Red Sox, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports. Wade started both games in Tuesday's doubleheader and went 3-for-5 with a walk. Andrew Velazquez will draw the start at shortstop and bat ninth.
Wade isn't in the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels. Wade had started each of the last four games, but he went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts in Sunday's win over the White Sox. Andrew Velazquez will take over at shortstop and bat ninth.
