Daza was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday. Daza's most recent stint with the Rockies lasted just two days, and the young outfielder failed to make an appearance during that stretch. David Dahl, who was reinstated from injured list in a corresponding move, will take his place on the roster. In three appearances for the big club this year, Daza is hitless with a walk and four strikeouts in 12 trips to the plate.
Daza was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday, Nick Groke of The Athletic reports. Daza will rejoin the major-league club just one day after being demoted to the Isotopes. He was called up for Noel Cuevas (quad), who was officially placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday.
Daza was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports. Daza appeared in a trio of games during his brief stint with the Rockies, going hitless with five strikeouts and one walk in 12 plate appearances. The 25-year-old will return to the minors to continue his development for the time being. Noel Cuevas was summoned from the minors in a corresponding move.
Daza is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants, Amy Gutierrez of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Daza will move to the bench after going hitless in 11 at-bats while starting three of the last four games. The punchless Rockies offense is still looking for answers at the corner-outfield spot opposite Charlie Blackmon and has yet to settle on a solution while David Dahl (abdomen) is on the injured list.
Daza is batting seventh and will play left field Friday night against the Giants. Daza went 0-for-4 in his first big-league action of 2019, so he'll look to secure his first base knock in his second start of the season. Raimel Tapia, who's been drawing starts in left field with David Dahl (abdomen) on the injured list, will head to the bench Friday night as a result.
