    • Mets' Jacob Rhame: Heading to minors amid appeal
      By RotoWire Staff

Rhame is appealing his two-game suspension and was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Friday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports. Rhame received the two-game suspension after MLB determined he intentionally threw at Rhys Hoskins in Tuesday's game against the Phillies. If any portion of the right-hander's suspension is upheld, he will begin serving it upon his return to the major leagues. The 26-year-old was sent down to make room on the 25-man roster for the return of Jacob deGrom (elbow) from the injured list.

MLB suspended Rhame for two games Thursday, Jared Diamond of The Wall Street Journal reports. Rhame was handed a two-game ban after it was determined the right-hander intentionally threw at Rhys Hoskins during Tuesday's win over the Phillies. If the reliever doesn't appeal the suspension, he'll begin serving it Friday and will be eligible to return for Sunday's series finale against the Brewers.

      By RotoWire Staff

The Mets recalled Rhame from Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports. Rhame will join the New York bullpen as a replacement for Drew Gagnon, who was optioned to Triple-A after covering 5.1 innings and tossing 97 pitches in Tuesday's 14-3 loss to the Phillies. The right-hander will give the Mets a fresh relief arm ahead of Wednesday's series finale, but Rhame's usage will likely be limited to lower-leverage spots for the duration of his stay in the big leagues.
