The Rockies announced Thursday that Lambert (elbow) recently underwent Tommy John surgery and was placed on the 45-day injured list. Lambert had previously developed a forearm strain late in spring training and apparently didn't fully move past the issue four months later at summer camp, prompting him to undergo the corrective procedure. Given the timing of his surgery, Lambert appears set to miss the entire 2021 campaign while rehabbing the elbow injury, though he should back to full strength for spring training in 2022.

Rockies pitching coach Steve Foster said Wednesday that Lambert (forearm) is progressing through a rehab program and on track to resume throwing in 3-to-4 weeks, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports. Had the MLB season started on March 26 as originally scheduled, Lambert's moderate right forearm strain might have made him a candidate to open the campaign on the 60-day injured list. Due to the league's ongoing hiatus, however, Lambert will be able to recover from the injury without missing much, if any, game action. If he's able to throw in early May as anticipated, Lambert would likely require around a month to re-condition his arm to handle a starter's workload.

Lambert will miss significant time with a forearm strain, Nick Groke of The Athletic reports. The team is awaiting more results from tests and scans for a more definitive diagnosis, but this is certainly a situation that could lead to Tommy John surgery. Lambert should be considered out indefinitely and there is a chance he won't pitch at all this season.

Lambert underwent tests on his tight right forearm Wednesday, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports. Lambert left Tuesday's game against the Reds due to the injury. His expected return date should become clearer once the results of the tests are known.

Lambert was pulled from Tuesday's Cactus League game against the Reds after experiencing forearm tightness, Nick Groke of The Athletic reports. The right-hander figures to undergo additional testing, but for now he remains without a timetable for his return. Lambert struggled before leaving the game, allowing four hits and one walk over 1.1 innings.
