  • Davis (0-2) allowed three runs on three hits and struck out one in two-thirds of an inning, taking the loss versus Cleveland on Sunday. After Hansel Robles let Cleveland get within a run in the seventh inning, Davis made a bigger mess in the eighth that ultimately cost Boston the game. He snapped a seven-inning scoreless streak with the meltdown. Davis has a 5.32 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 25:9 K:BB across 22 innings between Boston and Pittsburgh this season. He likely won't find himself in high-leverage spots such as Sunday's very often.

Davis is unlikely to be a major piece of the puzzle for the Red Sox.
