Tice signed a minor-league contract with the Nationals on Monday. Tice struggled to a 6.37 ERA and 1.88 WHIP in 53.2 innings last season between Atlanta's Double-A and Triple-A affiliates, though he struck out 83 batters along the way. The 27-year-old right-hander will function as organizational relief depth for Washington in 2024.... See More ... See Less

Diamondbacks' Ty Tice: Removed from 40-man roster
The Diamondbacks outrighted Tice to Triple-A Reno on Thursday. Tice has struggled in four games with Reno since been claimed July 21, allowing eight runs and walking six batters in just 2.1 innings of work. The move keeps him with Arizona's Triple-A club for now, but he's unlikely to sniff the major-league roster unless he has a huge turnaround.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Ty Tice: Finds new organization
Arizona claimed Tice off waivers from Atlanta on Wednesday and optioned him to Triple-A Reno. The 25-year-old right-hander reached the majors for the first time this season, appearing in five games between Toronto and Atlanta. The latter organization kept him around for about two months before electing to boot him off the 40-man roster, but Arizona evidently recognized enough potential in him to put in a waiver claim. Expect Tice to get a look in the big leagues with Arizona at some point later in 2021 if he can first string together a few quality relief appearances at Reno.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Ty Tice: Sent to Triple-A
Tice was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports. The right-hander was promoted to the big-league roster last weekend and delivered a scoreless frame with a walk and a hit during his lone appearance. Tice could rejoin Atlanta later in the year but will pitch at Gwinnett for now.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Ty Tice: Traded to Atlanta
Atlanta acquired Tice in exchange for cash considerations Friday, Kiley McDaniel of ESPN.com reports. Tice was DFA'd by Toronto on May 30. The right-hander made four appearances out of the Blue Jays' bullpen, allowing four earned runs on nine hits and four walks across seven innings. He'll now move to Atlanta's organization, though it's currently unclear what level he'll resume his season at.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Ty Tice: DFA'd by Toronto
Tice was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on Sunday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports. Tice gave up four runs on nine hits with six strikeouts and four walks over seven innings between his three stints in the majors this season, but he's now been removed from the 40-man roster. Carl Edwards had his contract selected from Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Ty Tice: Rejoins Blue Jays
Tice was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday, Mike Wilner of the Toronto Star reports. It will be the third stint in the majors this season for the 24-year-old. Tice has allowed four runs on nine hits with six strikeouts and four walks across seven innings.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Ty Tice: Sent to Triple-A
Tice was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday. Tice was hit hard in Friday's loss to the Astros, as he allowed two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out one in 1.1 relief innings. He'll now head to the minors as part of a shuffle after right-hander A.J. Cole's contract was selected in a corresponding move.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Ty Tice: Recalled by Blue Jays
Tice was recalled from the Blue Jays' alternate training site Saturday. Tice spent two weeks at the alternate training site but will now return to the major-league bullpen as part of a shuffle after Josh Palacios and Travis Bergen were sent down Saturday. Tice allowed one hit and one walk in two scoreless innings during his major-league debut April 9.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Ty Tice: Sent back down
Tice was optioned to the Blue Jays' alternate training site Saturday. Tice was called up by the Blue Jays on Friday and allowed one hit and one walk in two scoreless innings during his major-league debut against the Angels. However, he'll return to alternate camp after left-hander Ryan Borucki (illness) was activated from the COVID-19 injured list in a corresponding move.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Ty Tice: Recalled by Toronto
Tice was recalled by the Blue Jays on Friday, Mike Wilner of the Toronto Star reports. Tice was sent to minor-league camp ahead of the regular season, but he'll join the big-league roster for the first time after Tyler Chatwood (triceps) and Ryan Borucki (illness) were placed on the injured list. Tice posted a 2.25 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 60 innings in the minors in 2019, but he should mainly pitch in low-leverage situations to begin his time in the majors.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Ty Tice: Optioned to minors
Tice was optioned off the major-league roster and sent to minor-league camp Thursday. Tice was added to the Blue Jays' 40-man roster in November to protect him from the Rule 5 draft, but he's evidently not quite ready for the big leagues. He posted a 3.27 ERA in 33 innings of relief at the Triple-A level in 2019, so he could be knocking on the door soon.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Ty Tice: Added to 40-man roster
