Trejo was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday. Trejo's latest stint on the active roster lasted just six days. He got into two games, going 0-for-5 with three strikeouts. Rio Ruiz was recalled to take his place on the roster.
Trejo was called up by Colorado on Tuesday. Trejo made his big-league debut earlier this season but didn't do much in his 45 trips to the plate, hitting .244/.289/.366. He'll give the Rockies an extra bench bat, with Austin Gomber hitting the paternity list.
Trejo was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday. Trejo's latest stint on the big-league roster lasted nine days. He appeared in just three games but went 2-for-4 with a homer in limited action. Trevor Story (elbow) returned from the injured list in a corresponding move.
Trejo went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Friday's loss to Oakland. Trejo didn't start the contest, instead entering as part of a double switch in the top of the seventh inning. He made an immediate impact with his bat in the bottom of the frame, crushing a 433-foot shot leading off the inning. Trejo figures to get occasional playing time at shortstop while Trevor Story (elbow) remains out of action.
The Rockies recalled Trejo from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday. Trejo returns to the Rockies after suffering a dislocated finger May 21 in Triple-A. He fills the roster spot of Connor Joe, who was optioned Tuesday, and figures to get some action at shortstop until Trevor Story (elbow) recovers from his injury.
