Yamamoto (shoulder) has been throwing bullpens in Florida and could move toward a rehab assignment soon, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports. Yamamoto has already missed nearly two months with right shoulder soreness. His return isn't imminent, but it looks as though he'll be back well before the end of the season if he can avoid setbacks.
Mets acting general manager Zack Scott said Monday that Yamamoto (shoulder) remains "weeks away" from a return, Tim Healey of Newsday reports. Yamamoto isn't believed to have initiated a throwing program since he was placed on the injured list May 25 with right shoulder soreness, so he'll realistically need at least a month to build up before returning. Scott noted that the Mets remain hopeful Yamamoto will make it back from the IL later this season, but the 25-year-old likely won't have a spot in the big-league rotation waiting for him once he gets a clean bill of health.
Yamamoto (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Tuesday. The 25-year-old landed on the 10-day IL earlier Tuesday with right shoulder soreness, and it didn't take long for him to shift to the 60-day IL. Yamamoto will be sidelined until at least late July. The Mets acquired outfielder Billy McKinney from the Brewers in a corresponding move.
Yamamoto's sore shoulder is expected to send him to the injured list, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports. Yamamoto was pulled from his start Sunday against the Marlins due to the injury after allowing five runs in four innings of work. He'll likely hit the injured list to make way for Jacob deGrom (side), who's expected to be activated to start Tuesday against the Rockies.
Yamamoto was removed from Sunday's start against the Marlins with right shoulder soreness, Tim Healey of Newsday reports. The right-hander was pulled due to the shoulder issue after surrendering five runs (four earned) on six hits across four innings. It was likely only a spot start for Yamamoto with Jacob deGrom (side) set to return from this injured list this week, but the 25-year-old could now be headed to the injured list rather than back to the minors.
