    • Brewers' Jonathan Villar: Finger injury not serious
      By RotoWire Staff

Villar is reportedly feeling fine Thursday after suffering a minor finger injury earlier this week, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Villar was seen sporting a splint on his left ring finger this week, but the Brewers announced that the injury is nothing serious whatsoever. Villar apparently pinched his finger in a door and should be at full strength as he proceeds through his offseason schedule.

    • Brewers' Jonathan Villar: Dealing with finger injury
      By RotoWire Staff

Villar has been dealing with an apparent injury, as his left ring finger was in a splint Wednesday, The Brewer Nation blog reports. There has been no word from the club on Villar's status at this point, but there doesn't seem to be any real concern regarding his availability for next season. During the 2017 season, Villar was barely seeing time in the field over the course of the homestretch, and slashed just .241/.293/.372 in 122 games.

    • Brewers' Jonathan Villar: Playing time waning
      By RotoWire Staff

Villar is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Pirates. Villar posted a season-best .950 OPS in August and got off to a fast start this month as well, but since heading to the bench Sept. 6 after starting seven straight games, he hasn't started once. His playing time figures to remain minimal, as Hernan Perez and Eric Sogard have become the Brewers' top options off the bench.

    • Brewers' Jonathan Villar: Heads to bench Saturday
      By RotoWire Staff

Villar is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cubs. Villar will head to the bench for a third straight game after stringing together five consecutive starts in center field to start the month. While he is a respectable 5-for-16 over that stretch, his defense was rather shaky, leading manager Craig Counsell to turn back to Keon Broxton as his center fielder. With Broxton drawing three consecutive starts in center, including two against the division-leading Cubs, it looks as though he may have taken primary starting duties back from Villar.

    • Brewers' Jonathan Villar: Hits bench Wednesday
      By RotoWire Staff

Villar is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Reds. Villar took over as the Brewers' everyday center fielder after stringing together four consecutive multi-hit efforts, but he'll hit the bench in the series finale after going a modest 3-for-13 over the subsequent four contests. Keon Broxton checks in as the center fielder and will bat seventh.
