    • Ynoa (finger) was optioned to the Braves' alternate training site Friday. Ynoa was warming up in the bullpen during Friday's game against the Red Sox, but he didn't enter the game. He was believed to be a candidate to start one of Atlanta's final two games of the regular season, but Tucker Davidson was recalled to start Saturday's contest. It's unclear whether Ynoa will be utilized during the postseason after posting a 5.82 ERA and 1.66 over 21.2 innings during nine appearances (five starts) in the regular season.

    • Ynoa left Monday's game against the Marlins with a crack in the nail of his right middle finger, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports. Ynoa was pulled from the contest in the third inning, however, the injury isn't expected to be much of an issue moving forward, according to O'Brien. The right-hander allowed three runs on five hits and a walk while striking out one prior to his departure.

    • Ynoa (back) is slated to start Monday's game against the Marlins. Ynoa stepped back into the rotation in his last appearance Sept. 15 in Baltimore, striking out five over four shutout innings before departing with lower-back tightness. The five days of rest were apparently all Ynoa needed to overcome the issue, but the Braves likely won't ask him to cover more than five innings in Monday's outing anyway. If Ynoa shows well versus the Marlins, he would likely pick up a second start versus the Red Sox over the weekend.

    • Ynoa allowed two hits and had five strikeouts and zero walks over four scoreless innings against the Orioles on Tuesday before being lifted due to lower-back tightness, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports. If not for the back injury, the 22-year-old would have returned for the fifth inning and the chance to earn the first win of his career. Outside of the Sept. 4 outing in which he gave up six runs, Ynoa has a 2.76 ERA in seven appearances (16.1 innings) this season, but he may not receive another chance as a starter with Cole Hamels (triceps) and Max Fried (back) set to return from the injured list this week.
