De Horta signed with the Rays as a non-roster invitee Monday, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports. De Horta doesn't seem particularly likely to break camp with the team, as he's yet to reach the majors and struggled to a 6.75 ERA in 36 innings in his only taste of Triple-A in 2019. The Rays have a well-earned reputation for getting the most out of unheralded talents, however, so it's possible De Horta is just one tweak away from contributing at some point this season. His 33.9 percent strikeout rate across three levels in 2019 provides the main reason for optimism, but it came with a 14.7 percent walk rate.... See More ... See Less

Angels' Adrian De Horta: Joins roster pool
The Angels added De Horta to their 60-man roster pool Thursday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. De Horta had previously attended big-league spring training as a non-roster invitee, and he'll now get the chance to join the Angels for summer camp over the next two weeks. The right-hander saw the bulk of his action at Triple-A Salt Lake in 2019, posting a 6.75 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 47 strikeouts in 36 innings.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Adrian De Horta: Returned to minor-league camp
De Horta was reassigned to minor-league camp Tuesday. De Horta pitched 4.1 innings in Cactus League action, allowing two earned runs on four hits and one walk while striking out six. He struggled in his first stint in Triple-A ball last season, posting a 6.75 ERA and 1.56 WHIP over 36 innings. The right-hander's solid 29.4 strikeout percentage was contrasted by a troubling 15.0 percent walk rate.... See More ... See Less
