  • Yefry Ramirez: Headed overseas

Ramirez signed a one-year, $600,000 contract with the Hanwha Eagles of the Korea Baseball Organization on Wednesday after he was granted his release from his minor-league deal with the Dodgers, Jee-ho Yoo of the Yonhap News Agency reports. Ramirez appeared in 91 big-league games with the Orioles, Pirates and Dodgers across the 2018, 2019 and 2021 seasons, but he's spent the first two months of the minor-league campaign with Triple-A Oklahoma City. Over his eight outings (seven starts) for the affiliate, he compiled a 3.76 ERA and 1.12 WHIP across 40.2 innings. Despite Ramirez's quality work at Triple-A, a promotion to the big leagues wasn't imminent, so he'll head overseas for a more lucrative payday.

  • Dodgers' Yefry Ramirez: DFA'd Wednesday

The Dodgers designated Ramirez for assignment Wednesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. A day after being optioned to the minors, Ramirez is off the 40-man roster to clear a spot for Cole Hamels. The righty was impressive Sunday in his only big-league appearance of the season, so a return to the Dodgers in 2021 is not out of the question.

  • Dodgers' Yefry Ramirez: Sent back to Triple-A

The Dodgers optioned Ramirez to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday. After tossing two scoreless innings in relief in Sunday's 13-0 win over Arizona in his Dodgers debut, Ramirez was rewarded with a demotion back to the minors. Since Ramirez wasn't likely to be available for two days after the relief outing, the Dodgers may just have wanted to swap him off the active roster for a fresh bullpen arm. Expect Los Angeles to announce a corresponding roster move prior to Tuesday's game against the Astros.

Ramirez has worked mostly as a starter in the minors this season, compiling a 4.91 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 70:31 K:BB across 62.1 innings covering 15 outings (12 starts).
