Middleton (ankle) is not expected to play in Wednesday's season opener versus the 76ers, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Though Middleton didn't make a single preseason appearance after undergoing surgeries on both of his ankles over the summer, he had expressed optimism that he would be ready to go for the season opener. However, the Bucks look set to err on the side of caution for at least one game, and considering he hasn't been cleared for 5-on-5 scrimmaging with contact, it wouldn't be surprising if he missed additional contests. In Middleton's expected absence Wednesday, Taurean Prince is a candidate to fill in with the starters.
