Drummond said Tuesday that he will exercise his $28.75 million player option for the 2020-21 season, ESPN.com reports.

Drummond revealed the decision on Tuesday's episode of ESPN's "Le Batard & Friends -- STUpodity," stating that he will "definitely" be returning to the Cavaliers next season. Considering the amount of money involved, the announcement shouldn't come as a surprise, and Drummond will still have an opportunity to hit unrestricted free agency after the conclusion of the 2020-21 campaign. The Cavaliers acquired the big man in a trade with Detroit back in February and immediately inserted him as their starting center, with Drummond averaging 17.5 points, 11.1 boards, 1.8 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.4 blocks in 28.3 minutes per game over his eight appearances with Cleveland before the NBA season was suspended.
