Markkanen (COVID-19 health and safety protocols) doesn't appear on the injury report ahead of Monday's game against the Nets.
Markkanen looks set to put an end to a nine-game absence, presumably as the result of a positive COVID-19 test. The forward cleared health and safety protocols a few days ago and has been building up conditioning, so the Cavaliers could prefer to ease him back into the rotation with a lighter minutes load than normal. Prior to missing time, Markkanen had started in all eight of his appearances and averaged 12.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.8 three-pointers, 1.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.9 blocks in 30.6 minutes per contest.
