Kornet agreed Sunday with the Cavaliers on a 10-day hardship exemption, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
After being cut by Boston in training camp, Kornet stuck with the organization's G League affiliate in Maine. He'll now get the opportunity to return to the NBA level on at least a short-term basis after the NBA granted Cleveland an exemption due to the numerous COVID-19 and injury-related absences on the roster. Over 133 career appearances in the NBA with the Knicks, Bulls and Celtics, Kornet has averaged 5.8 points and 2.6 rebounds in 15.2 minutes per game.
