Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue said after Tuesday's 106-92 win over the Spurs that Batum was limited to 14 minutes in the contest due to some Achilles soreness, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Per Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com, Lue suggested that Batum is "good" moving forward, so the veteran forward is best viewed as probable heading into Thursday's game at Memphis. The Clippers' decision to limit Batum on Tuesday may be maintenance-related more than anything after he logged 35-plus minutes in two of his prior three outings. While Batum's averages of 9.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.3 three-pointers, 1.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.8 blocks per game don't jump off the page, his ability to chip in across the box score while shooting an excellent 51.7 percent from the field have made him a roster-worthy player in 12-team leagues.
