Week 6 of the 2021-22 NBA season began on Monday. There aren't eye-opening steals readily available on the waiver wire this week, so Fantasy managers could have to get creative when deciding on new additions. A few players are trending in the right direction, and we've picked out a few with rostership under 50 percent.
Here are four Week 6 waiver wire targets worth a look:
Patty Mills, G, SAS (44% rostered)
Mills is getting buckets for a Nets team that's lacking depth on the wing. He scored more than 20 real points for the third time in four games last Friday when Kevin Durant missed a matchup against the Magic with a shoulder injury, and he should continue to get looks in the starting lineup moving forward. Joe Harris (ankle) and Bruce Brown (hamstring) are banged up and could miss multiple games. Mills is shooting 39 percent from deep and ended last week with 21 triples in his previous five games on 52.5% shooting. Few waiver wire players can boost long-range shooting like Mills in Roto leagues.
Larry Nance Jr., F, POR (39% rostered)
Chauncey Billups is experimenting with the Trail Blazers' lineups and has preferred Nance over Jusuf Nurkic down the stretch lately. The former Cleveland Cavalier has played a big part in his team's three-game winning streak by averaging 12.6 points and 6.3 rebounds while shooting 80 percent from the field. While that efficiency won't last, his increasing role could make him a solid deep-league add down the road.
Patrick Beverley, G, MIN (36% rostered)
Beverley has managed to produce decent Fantasy production despite being surrounded by D'Angelo Russell, Anthony Edwards, and Karl-Anthony Towns. Mr. 94 Feet's scoring average (8.5) is the highest it's been since his Rockets days, while his assist average (4.8) is at an all-time high. None of Beverley's numbers jump off the page, but his consistent minutes have helped him measure up to Kemba Walker in points leagues. In fact, Beverley's been more efficient on a Fantasy-points-per-game basis.
Honorable mention
Chimezie Metu, F, SAC (27% rostered)
Metu's Fantasy value has risen since the Kings inserted him into the starting lineup, and he has capitalized on the opportunity. His field goal percentage (39%) could use some work, but his shot volume shows plenty of room for growth. He's willing to try stretching the floor with the long ball, and his hustle has helped him contribute solid block and steal numbers.
